tasting Beaujolais wine!
Auparavant, si vous avez dit « non » à Beaujolais Nouveau, c'est là le moment de dire « oui » à Beaujolais Crus! Contrary
to popular belief, Beaujolais is so much more than the tart, young wine released in November. In the final class of our
French wine education series, we will look closely at the ten Crus and their unique characteristics. We will learn about pinot noir's
less famous sister gamay, carbonic maceration and the origins of the natural wine movement. Come join Certified Sommelier, Greta Arendsen,
for a nuanced tasting of six Beaujolais with cheese pairing by Certified Cheese Professional, Devin Lamma. Class is Thursday, May
16th and tickets tend to sell out fast. À très vite![...]

Sprechen Sie Elsässisch? Ouais, moi non plus. Heureusement, you don't need to speak French, Alsatian, German or
Flemish to enjoy the crisp whites that hail from Alsace. Located in northeastern France, Alsace, while no longer occupied by
Germany, is not totally French either and Germanic influence is undeniable in the high-acid, aromatic, predominately white wines. This
picturesque region will be the focus of the next educational wine tasting led by Certified Sommelier, Greta Arendsen, with
cheese selected from Certified Cheese Professional, Devin Lamma. We will discuss the northern terroir in the Vosges mountains,
Franco/Prussian influences, wine laws and taste wines made from the four noble grape varieties, among others. Please join us
April 11th for a night of frenetic wine and creamy cheeses. S’gilt!

I'd like to start this off by thanking you for teaching me so much French. You were a great teacher and you helped me learn so many new things. I'd also like to apologize for missing a lot of lessons, although I'm sure that I would've rather gone to them. Again, you are the best teacher I've ever had, and it's sad to say goodbye to you.

Alliance Française de Denver created a wonderful virtual environment where I spent my Summer vacation; visiting the winemaking area of Bouzy; celebrating Bastille Day; learning how to cook with flowers; touring historic châteaux and beautiful villages; all in the safety and comfort of my home.
A real treat for any Francophone person; especially having a daily place for French chat to try out and maintain colloquial skills.

Anne is fantastic! The material is fast paced for this "old dog" to learn new tricks, but we could not go slower. It has been very helpful to prepare me for my trip to France.
Sue T.
A great place to learn and practice French while getting acquainted with French culture and interesting people. I definitely recommend AFD and their events. Je parle français! Et vous?
