Letter from the Board of Directors 3-19-08
Dear Alliance Française de Denver Members,
It is with great professional regret and deep personal sadness that I am announcing the resignation from our board of two of our highly esteemed members. Jean Pierre Verdier, AFD’s president and Frieda Sanidas-Leason, board member and until 2007 Colorado’s Honorary French Consul.
Jean Pierre, as most of you know, has devoted many years to the promotion, growth and progress of the Alliance, through many hours donated as member, vice president, president and volunteer at large. His hard work, loyalty and support of the Alliance will be greatly missed.
Frieda Sanidas-Leason, has been a member, advocate and board participant for more years than either of us care to mention. Her astounding diplomatic and negotiating skills have created, nurtured and assured the stability of the French community and its francophone and francophile organizations.
The resignation of both these exceptional individuals will be a great loss for the board, but the Alliance will always welcome them as generous friends, supporters and successful proponents of the development of this centenary institution.
Per our bylaws, I will step in as president until the end of Jean-Pierre Verdier's term September 2008. We now have two openings on our board and are looking for participants interested in *assisting the Alliance with strategic planning and fund raising. Please contact Jean-Francois Duclos, our executive director, or me for additional information or to notify us of your availability.
Thank you students, members, volunteers, teachers and staff for all your support
Linette Hayat, President
