Job Opening: Part-time Marketing and Development Manager

START DATE: Monday, June 9th, 2008

SALARY RANGE AND HOURS : $15,000 annually w/ benefits, +/-20 hours a week, flexible schedule with the potential to be full-time

GENERAL PURPOSE
This person will be responsible for the general branding and publicity of the Alliance Française de Denver, a nonprofit French language school, cultural center and resource center. In close collaboration with the Executive Director and the rest of the staff, this person will undertake fundraising and development tasks including grant writing, sponsorships, direct mail campaigns, and planned giving, as well as some cultural and social event planning. This person will manage the volunteer program as well as the membership partner program. This person will work toward increasing the visibility and community presence of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Market and brand the Alliance Française effectively to its target market
• Identify and support the execution of programming and event planning to raise funds and fulfill the mission
• Facilitate fundraising activities and continue to develop and enhance the programming (grant writing, sponsorships, direct mail campaigns, planned giving).
• Market and promote French classes to new and existing target markets through various mediums.
• Act as the volunteer coordinator and support the supervision of French interns
• Design flyers, programming and relevant marketing collateral for events and programs
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners and collaborating organizations to ensure diverse and quality partnerships and programming.
• Aid in the implementation of the 2008/2009 strategic plan

JOB QUALIFICATION
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends for events
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and remain organized
• General proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, DreamWeaver, Photoshop and Quark Express
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with the public, employees and vendors
• Self-starter, able to take initiative
• French Language skills are a plus but efficiency and ability to do assigned tasks are key factors.
• Nonprofit experience a plus

Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree + Industry experience
• Previous Marketing experience
• Grant Writing and Development experience a plus

The Alliance Française de Denver is the local independent branch of the Nonprofit Alliance Française world-wide network. Its mission is to increase awareness of and interest in French language and cultures within our local community. It has policies and practices of non-discrimination. It offers a variety of cultural and social events, and quality courses with emphasis on conversational French.
