A2.1 6:00-8:30 p.m.
This class is designed for students who have completed French A2.1 or who have studied French for a minimum of 110 hours. After having
successfully completed French A2.1, you will be able to speak in detail about your personal, academic and professional experiences, tell
stories in past-tense, understand the main idea of a text or a podcast, and express value judgments. Various topics of conversation and
culture will be covered.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Cosmopolite 2 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A2 series (A2.1, A2.2,
A2.3, and A2.4). In this course, Dossiers 1 and 2 will be covered.
MEMBERSHIP: As a membership based non-profit organization, we require that all students be members of Alliance Française de Denver. Our
memberships are valid for one year.
NEW STUDENTS: If you have taken French before, we suggest you take our free placement test to ensure you are
starting at the right level.
Pace: 2.5 hours over 11 weeks
A2.4 6:00-8:30 p.m.
This class is designed for students who have completed A2.3 (203) or who have had 250 hours of course work in French. After having
successfully completed French A2.4 (204), you will be able to talk about education, travel, food, culture, and consumer lifestyles. You
will be able to describe subtle impressions and aspirations. You will also be able to express goals as well as cause and effect
relationships. You will be able to express hypothetical situations. Finally, you will have been introduced to the
subjunctive.
