Fast Track A1.1 is for complete beginners, i.e., students who never had French before. This class meets twice a week for 2.5 hours and entails 2 to 3 hours of homework per week. The emphasis in this class is on very basic conversational skills. After having successfully completed French A1.1, you will be able to introduce yourself and others, answer basic questions regarding your life, and express personal likes and dislikes. You will also have learned the French alphabet, numbers and basic vocabulary.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Saison 1 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In French A1.1, Units 0, 1, and 2 in the Saison 1 textbooks will be covered.
MEMBERSHIP: As a membership based non-profit organization, we require that all students be members of Alliance Française de Denver. Our
memberships are valid for one year.

French A1.2 is designed for students who have completed A1.1 (101) or for false beginners (those who had French before but forgot almost all of it). The emphasis in French A1.2 (102) is on basic conversational skills. After having successfully completed French A1.2, you will be able to ask and answer questions, such as “Where are you from?” “Where do you live?” “What do you like to do on weekends?” You will be able to describe people and places, and explain basic hopes and opinions.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Saison 1 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In A1.2, Units 3 and 4 will be covered in Saison 1.

Complete French A1.3 (103) in only 4 weeks (versus 11 weeks). This class meets twice a week for 2.5 hours and entails 2 to 3 hours of
homework per week. This class is designed for students who have completed A1.2 or who have had two semesters of French. After having
successfully completed French A1.3, you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and phrases aimed at asking for
directions, talk about your hobbies and interests, and give orders. You will also be able to tell a story with the use of past tenses.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Saison 1 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In this course, you will cover Units 5, 6, and 7 in the Saison 1.

Complete French A1.4 (104) in only 4 weeks (versus 11 weeks). This class meets twice a week for 2.5 hours and entails 2 to 3 hours of homework per week. Fast Track A1.4 is for students who have completed A1.3 or who had three semesters of French. After having successfully completed French A1.4, you will be able to speak about your family, your profession, and personal interests. You will also be able to tell and write a story with the use of past tenses. Additionally, you will be able to talk about your future goals. Finally, you will be ready for A2.1.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Saison 1 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In this course, you will cover Units 8 and 9 in the Saison 1 textbook.
