Objectives

This class is for students at the A2 level or above.  We will discover 6 to 10 recipes made with edible flowers.  Flowers have been used or represented in culinary arts for centuries.  However, did you know that flowers can be used in recipes not only to color and brighten a plate but also to enhance a gustatory experience?   For each edible flower recipe, such as zucchini fritters (beignets de courgettes), we will discuss the vocabulary, the essence and the raison d’être of the flower in the recipe, and its potential health benefits.  Students will be invited to share their knowledge, anecdotes, culinary experiments and experience.   This is NOT a cooking class.  Class will be taught entirely in French.

"What an awesome place to meet people who enjoy French Culture! I have never seen so many people from different countries get together at Alliance Française for the World Cup Final! Everyone was welcome and had a blast, thanks to the director Martin Lafitte!"

“Anne is fantastic! The material is fast paced for this ‘old dog’ to learn new tricks, but we couldn’t go slower. It’s been very helpful to prepare me for my trip to France.”
