French A1.2 (102) is designed for students who have completed A1.1 (101) or for false beginners (those who had French before but forgot almost all of it). The emphasis in French A1.2 is on basic conversational skills. After having successfully completed French A1.2, you will be able to ask and answer questions, such as “Where are you from?” “Where do you live?” “What do you like to do on weekends?” You will be able to describe people and places, and explain basic hopes and opinions.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Saison 1 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In A1.2, Units 3 and 4 will be covered.
MEMBERSHIP: As a membership based non-profit organization, we require that all students be members of Alliance Française de Denver. Our
memberships are valid for one year.
NEW STUDENTS: If you have taken French before, we suggest you take our free placement test to ensure you are starting at the right level.
Please note: There will be no class on Monday, February 15, 2021 for Presidents' Day.
Saison 1 provides a simple and structured approach to learning the French language. It encourages students to pick out key information, understand it, retain it and then reuse it in spoken or written form. Each chapter includes a variety of exercises and a cultural element to help students become more aware of the richness of French culture.
This workbook contains more than 300 exercises to reinforce vocabulary, grammar, and phonetics, as well as verb conjugation tables, auto-evaluation tests and an audio CD with extra exercises.
The student evaluations and tests are all provided in the same format as the DELF examinations, so that students can familiarise themselves with the format. The audio CD provides all of the oral comprehension exercises and the DVD contains authentic videos. A personal code is printed inside each Student Book to enable students to access the electronic version of the book, CD and DVD.
