Complete A1.2 in eight weeks instead of eleven!  French A1.2 is designed for students who have completed A1.1 (101) or for false beginners (those who had French before but forgot almost all of it). The emphasis in French A1.2 (102) is on basic conversational skills.  After having successfully completed French A1.2, you will be able to ask and answer questions, such as “Where are you from?” “Where do you live?” “What do you like to do on weekends?”  You will be able to describe people and places, and explain basic hopes and opinions.

Please note: Due to its accelerated length, this course entails a significant amount of homework.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS:  Cosmopolite 1  (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In A1.2, Dossiers 3 and 4 will be covered..

Stephen G.

"Alliance Française de Denver created a wonderful virtual environment where I spent my Summer vacation; visiting the winemaking area of Bouzy; celebrating Bastille Day; learning how to cook with flowers; touring historic châteaux and beautiful villages; all in the safety and comfort of my home. A real treat for any Francophone person; especially having a daily place for French chat to try out and maintain colloquial skills."

“Anne is fantastic! The material is fast paced for this ‘old dog’ to learn new tricks, but we couldn’t go slower. It’s been very helpful to prepare me for my trip to France.”

Cristina G.

“A great place to learn and practice French while getting acquainted with French culture and interesting people. I definitely recommend AFD and their events. Je parle français! Et vous?”
