This in-person class is designed for students at the B2 Upper Intermediate level or higher or for students who have taken more than 650 hours of French.

In this class, students will participate in enticing conversations about current events and culture pertaining to the French speaking world (France, Belgium, West Africa, etc.).  Based on news videos and podcasts, they will engage in class discussions and defend their opinions.  Additionally, they will learn new idiomatic expressions, proverbs, as well as a plethora of linguistic subtleties.  

This class is taught entirely in French. 

This course is designed for students who have completed French B1.4 (304) or who have studied French for a minimum of 300 hours.  After having successfully completed French B2.1, you will be ready to continue exploring advanced aspects the French language.  You will be able to converse and write about a wide range of topics, such as music and films or current affairs.  You will be able defend your standpoints with supportive arguments.  This class will also work on writing argumentative essays.

In this French conversation class, discussion about topics related to current events, culture, science, and economics, is of the essence. Each week, the instructor selects different themes, drawn from newspaper or magazine articles, podcasts, excerpts from literary texts, French movie clips, etc. Exchange of ideas is highly encouraged and fun. Emphasis on pronunciation and grammar is made when necessary.

Les “casse-croutes” de l’Alliance Francaise de Denver – Special Lunch Time Conversation Program BYOCC! (Bring Your Own Casse-Croûte !) From the literal translation to “break the crust” (as in breaking bread), the Casse-Croûte is a light meal shared between friends, colleagues, and family; a French version of a brown-bag lunch. Join us for a lively conversation based on current events/a magazine article/news, etc. related to your level of French. Conversations will be facilitated by the teacher who will prepare something different for each session. No textbook needed for this class.

This in-person class is designed for students at the B2 Upper Intermediate level or higher or for students who have taken more than 650 hours of French.

In this class, students will participate in enticing conversations about current events and culture pertaining to the French speaking world (France, Belgium, West Africa, etc.).  Based on news videos and podcasts, they will engage in class discussions and defend their opinions.  Additionally, they will learn new idiomatic expressions, proverbs, as well as a plethora of linguistic subtleties.  

This class is taught entirely in French. 

This course is designed for students who have completed French B1.4 (304) or who have studied French for a minimum of 300 hours.  After having successfully completed French B2.1, you will be ready to continue exploring advanced aspects the French language.  You will be able to converse and write about a wide range of topics, such as music and films or current affairs.  You will be able defend your standpoints with supportive arguments.  This class will also work on writing argumentative essays. 

REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Cosmopolite 4  (textbook and workbook). In this course, you will cover Dossiers 1 and 2. The same textbooks will be used in B2.2, B2.3, and B2.4.

MEMBERSHIP: As a membership based non-profit organization, we require that all students be members of Alliance Française de Denver. Our memberships are valid for one year.

This course is designed for students who have completed French B2.3 (403) or who have studied French for a minimum of 375 hours.  After having successfully completed French B2.4, you will be able to converse and write about a wide range of subjects pertaining to current affairs or culture; you will be able to communicate with a greater degree of fluency and spontaneity; you will be able to understand the fundamental idea of a complex text or a technical piece related to your field; you will be able to produce detailed writing on a wide range of topics; you will be able to explain your point of view on a current issue by giving advantages and disadvantages.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOOKS: Cosmopolite 4 (textbook and workbook).  In this course, you will cover Dossiers 7 and 8 in Cosmopolite 4.

This course is designed for B1 to C2 (intermediate to advanced) students. In this French conversation class, discussion about topics related to current events, culture, science, and economics, is of the essence. Each week, the instructor selects different themes, drawn from newspaper or magazine articles, podcasts, excerpts from literary texts, French movie clips, etc. Exchange of ideas is highly encouraged and fun. Emphasis on pronunciation and grammar is made when necessary.
