In this show Frederick exhibits side by side representational paintings of his American and French influence, exhibiting for the first time some of the landscape and other paintings realized in the past year.

After over a year without art on the walls of Alliance Française, we are very happy to welcome our artist Frédéric Pichon in our Art Gallery.  Click here to watch the virtual tour from Denver's Art District on Santa Fe.

Graduated from Ecole d'Architecture de Paris, Frederick Pichon worked as an architect for 15 years, including renovation of the Grand Palais and Musee des Invalides, and various contemporary buildings.

Frederick worked several years in New-York City, doing stage architecture, including designing the Detroit Tigers stadium. His personal interests led him to become a designer of science exhibitions for the American Museum of Natural History.

Frederick is fluent in various graphic and design and 3D software which he sometime uses to create art works.

In parallel to Architecture, Frederick has followed a lifelong interest in painting and art, which led him to take many art classes, have a painting studio and do various group exhibitions in France and the US.

After moving to Denver, Frederick held several solo exhibitions at the Alliance Francaise. Frederick joined Spark and Edge, two co-op galleries in Denver, and held there several group exhibitions, and personal shows.

For seven years, Frederick has been giving a series of lectures about art history at the Alliance Francaise in Denver called the Cafe des Arts.

His paintings reflect his personal interests in design, architecture, science and history. They are often inspired by his travels.

Frederick has a solid knowledge of classical painting, and his work mixes traditional and contemporary, sometimes including materials or collages as well as computer images.

WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE SAYING

Lir M.

I'd like to start this off by thanking you for teaching me so much French. You were a great teacher and you helped me learn so many new things. I'd also like to apologize for missing a lot of lessons, although I'm sure that I would've rather gone to them. Again, you are the best teacher I've ever had, and it's sad to say goodbye to you.

Alliance Française de Denver created a wonderful virtual environment where I spent my Summer vacation; visiting the winemaking area of Bouzy; celebrating Bastille Day; learning how to cook with flowers; touring historic châteaux and beautiful villages; all in the safety and comfort of my home.

A real treat for any Francophone person; especially having a daily place for French chat to try out and maintain colloquial skills.

Anne is fantastic! The material is fast paced for this "old dog" to learn new tricks, but we could not go slower. It has been very helpful to prepare me for my trip to France.

A great place to learn and practice French while getting acquainted with French culture and interesting people. I definitely recommend AFD and their events. Je parle français! Et vous?
