Fast Track version of our foundation courses. Meets 2.5 hours twice a week over 4 weeks. Highly dynamic class for a fast-paced learning experience! In a 12-week session, ambitious students can complete three levels instead of one!

A1 Beginner

Fast Track A1.1 6:00-7:15 a.m.

Fast Track

Learn French over breakfast! Bring your coffee and participate in our first morning fast-track class.

Fast Track A1.1 is for false beginners, i.e., students who have had some French, but remember little.  This class meets four times a week for 1 hour, and entails 2 to 3 hours of homework per week.  The emphasis in this class is on very basic conversational skills.  After having successfully completed French A1.1, you will be able to introduce yourself and others, answer basic questions regarding your life, and express personal likes and dislikes.  You will also have learned the French alphabet, numbers and basic vocabulary.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS:  Cosmopolite 1 (textbook and workbook), which will be used in each class of the A1 level (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, and A1.4). In French A1.1, Dossiers 0, 1, and 2 will be covered. 

MEMBERSHIP: As a membership based non-profit organization, we require that all students be members of Alliance Française de Denver.  Our memberships are valid for one year.

A1 Beginner

French for Travelers (6wks) 12:00-1:30 pm

Workshop
This 6-week course is designed for complete or false beginners who are preparing to travel to a French-speaking country in the near future.  The focus of the course is on needed language tools to travel.  Students will be taught to introduce themselves, understand and ask for directions, order from a restaurant menu, purchase items, etc.

Required material: None!
Pace: 1.5 over 6 weeks

La Cuisine Francophone (5 wks) A1 / A2 - 9:30 - 11:30 am

Workshop
In this class, students will discover the beauty of not only French cuisine, but cuisine from around the French speaking world. Over 5 weeks, students will watch videos and engage in discussion that will not only donne faim to participants, but demonstrate the richness of the Francophonie in the world. Come see what foods the French-speaking world has to offer!

Required Materials: None! 
Pace: 2 hours over 5 weeks
A2 Upper Beginner

Grammar Boot Camp (4 wks) 9:30-11:30

Workshop
This course is designed to encourage A2/B1 level students to improve on specific grammar topics. Different topics will be chosen by the instructor each week.
Pace: 1 hour over 4 weeks

La Cuisine Francophone (5 wks) A1 / A2 - 9:30 - 11:30 am

Workshop
In this class, students will discover the beauty of not only French cuisine, but cuisine from around the French speaking world. Over 5 weeks, students will watch videos and engage in discussion that will not only donne faim to participants, but demonstrate the richness of the Francophonie in the world. La prononciation et La phonetique (2wks) 6:00-8:00 pm

Workshop

In this workshop, students will review specifics regarding French phonetics and pronunciation.

Paris and its arrondissements (4wks) B1 - 9:30-11:30

Workshop

In this conference, we will learn about the most important and famous landmarks of each arrondissement. We will talk about its history and the unconventional activities in each arrondissement.

This class is for A2-B1 level students.
