B1 Casse-Croûte

Conversation

Les “casse-croutes” de l’Alliance Francaise de Denver – Special Lunch Time Conversation Program BYOCC! (Bring Your Own Casse-Croûte !) From the literal translation to “break the crust” (as in breaking bread), the Casse-Croûte is a light meal shared between friends, colleagues, and family; a French version of a brown-bag lunch. Join us for a lively conversation based on current events/a magazine article/news, etc. related to your level of French. Conversations will be facilitated by the teacher who will prepare something different for each session. No textbook is needed for this class.

B1/B2 Review

Foundation
This class is for students who have completed B1.4 (approximately 300 hours of French study). This is an advanced level class, and is recommended for students with a significant French background, that they perhaps haven't used in some time (previously lived in France, French major/minor, etc.)

In this class, students will review B1 and B2 level topics, based on the interests and needs of the students in the class. This can include (but is not limited to) use of the conditional and subjunctive modes, effective use of passive voice, hypothetical phrases with "si", demonstrative pronouns, and indirect speech. Students will practice speaking and writing in the contexts of both everyday life and of more complex themes, such as current events, using written and audio documents.

If you are unsure of your level, you can find our placement test HERE
