Ev@lang is a placement test developed by France Éducation International, the organization responsible for administering the DELF/DALF and TCF exams. While Ev@lang does not provide an official certification, it is a valuable tool for assessing a student's current level in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and grammar.

Please be aware that the test instructions are provided in French. If you are unable to understand basic French instructions, you will likely be best suited for an A1.1 to A1.3 class.

Why choose Ev@lang?

  • Reliable – Developed by language assessment experts
  • Fast – Complete the test in 35 minutes or less
  • Adaptive – Questions adjust based on your responses for an accurate result
  • Convenient – Take the test on your own computer, at your own pace

How to take Ev@lang with AFDenver

1

Purchase your placement test below for $20. If you register for a class within 30 days of purchasing the test, the $20 will be credited toward your class registration fee.

2

You will receive your test code and instructions within 24 business hours. Please note that this is not an automated process—allow our team one full business day to send your code.

3

After completing the test, you will receive a level assessment report to help guide your course selection.

Important: Our offices are closed on Fridays. If you purchase a placement test on Friday, we will do our best to send your code the same day, but it may arrive as late as Monday.

Do I need a Speaking assessment?

Ev@lang is a highly reliable placement test, so most students will not require a speaking assessment. However, if your score falls between A2- and B1+, and you feel your speaking abilities differ significantly from your test result, a speaking assessment may be recommended. You will have the option to schedule a speaking assessment when you receive your placement test code.
