language proficiency exam, or simply enjoy mastering a new language. Classes typically meet once a week for 2.5 hours, while Fast-Track
options, when available, meet twice a week for the same duration.

roleplay. Held once a week, these classes typically run 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Cultural Classes explore Francophone culture and history for B1+ students, typically in French. Lower-level classes may include more English. Offered less frequently than other courses.

Our levels are based off of the CEFR (Common European Framework for Languages). You can find a general overview for each level below.
Students learn to understand simple expressions and phrases used to meet basic needs. By the end of the A1.1 to A1.4 series, they are able to introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions, and provide basic descriptions of their daily life.
Students build confidence using descriptions and expanding on the simple language learned at A1. By the end of the A2.1 to A2.4 series, they can describe aspects of their daily life in more detail and communicate simple, familiar stories.
Students start developing the ability to adapt their language to handle unexpected situations. By the end of the B1.1 to B1.4 series, they can describe experiences and events with some detail, express opinions and explain their reasoning, and begin to engage with topics beyond their immediate personal interests.
Students can communicate with increasing complexity and fluency. By the end of the B2.1 to B2.4 series, they are able to understand authentic materials on more complex topics and express their ideas clearly and effectively, without causing difficulty for their audience.
Students can communicate fluently on personal, professional, and academic topics. By the end of the C1.1 to C1.4 series, they are able to confidently navigate complex, authentic materials and use language flexibly and effectively, even when discussing unfamiliar subjects.
