Kevin Gaël Thomas was born and raised in Cannes, France where he studied on full scholarship at the prestigious Rosella Hightower’s International Ballet School. While studying ballet, he studied at the Music Conservatory where he graduated with honors in 2004. That same year he was invited as a full scholarship student to study at the renowned Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. Upon graduation in 2006, he started his professional career with the Houston Ballet. The following season, Ballet de Lorraine in Nancy France welcomed him in their roaster. The following year, he signed a contract with Colorado Ballet where he is still performing to this day as a soloist. In 2009, Mr. Thomas was chosen to represent France at the New-York International Ballet Competition and was selected to represent his home country in 2010 at the Olympics of Ballet for the famous Jackson USA International Ballet competition.

His most notorious roles as a professional dancer include Michael Pink’s ‘Peter Pan’, Michael Smuin’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’, Christopher Wheeldon’s ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’, Glen Tetley’s ‘Sacre du Printemps’, Jerome Robbin’s ‘Fancy Free’ and Mercutio in Derek Dean’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

As a choreographer, Thomas created works for Colorado Ballet and Boulder Ballet in 2015 and 2016.

The following year, he founded the Thomas Dance Project that eventually got granted the nonprofit organization status in 2019.

Many productions came to life since then such as ‘Riviera’ in 2017, ‘Home’ in 2018 and ‘Beyond Borders’ in 2019.

I'd like to start this off by thanking you for teaching me so much French. You were a great teacher and you helped me learn so many new things. I'd also like to apologize for missing a lot of lessons, although I'm sure that I would've rather gone to them. Again, you are the best teacher I've ever had, and it's sad to say goodbye to you.

Alliance Française de Denver created a wonderful virtual environment where I spent my Summer vacation; visiting the winemaking area of Bouzy; celebrating Bastille Day; learning how to cook with flowers; touring historic châteaux and beautiful villages; all in the safety and comfort of my home.

A real treat for any Francophone person; especially having a daily place for French chat to try out and maintain colloquial skills.

Anne is fantastic! The material is fast paced for this "old dog" to learn new tricks, but we could not go slower. It has been very helpful to prepare me for my trip to France.

A great place to learn and practice French while getting acquainted with French culture and interesting people. I definitely recommend AFD and their events. Je parle français! Et vous?
