The TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français) for the general public is intended for anyone aged 16 or older whose mother
tongue is not French and who wishes to have their level of French assessed for academic reasons (students, future students, trainees…),

With a mandatory written expression component, the TCF for the general public is the official test recognized by the Ministry of
Higher Education
and the Ministry of Culture as part of the DAP (Demande d’Admission Préalable).
This TCF is composed of 4 mandatory tests, three multiple-choice questionnaires (MCQs), one written expression test and the optional
verbal skills:
