WINE and CHEESE TASTING with Ashley Hausman and Devin Lamma!

Your requests have been heard! We know how much you all love Ashley and Devin's wine & cheese pairing events. They have agreed to host another one, here at the Alliance Française de Denver! On a vaiment hâte! Just in time for La Saint Valentin :)

A message from Ashley:

"J'aime la France!

What better way to celebrate Valentine's than by sipping on wines from the best soil on earth- from a country we all love. Join us as we taste through the whole of France on February 13th and hear stories of others that fell hard for this country's vineyards as well as winemaker partners that harness some of the best love stories, too! We are sure to visit Champagne, St. Amour in Beaujolais (obviously), the Rhone valley, Provence... "

A little more about her:

"Ashley came into the wine industry in 2008 while completing her Masters in English and American Literature at New York University. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 2009 to manage Little's Fine Wine & Spirits; in 2013, she took a position in import distribution for Old World Wine Imports, which she still represents. Ashley also teaches for the Wine Education Institute and conducts many private and public events through her own education/consulting business - Mistral Wine Co., which she formed in 2014. Former and present clients include Rocky Mountain PBS, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Alliance Francaise, The Italian Institute and Liv Sotheby's International. Recently, Ashley was awarded the Commanderie de Bordeaux aux Etats Unis Scholarship for outstanding performance by a North American student in the MW Study Programme. She also serves on the Colorado Wine Industry Development Board, for whom she is Chair of the Legislative and Business Development Committee as well as Secretary. When she is not teaching, selling or drinking wine, she can be found reading, writing, running, cooking or obsessing over her dog." - https://www.mastersofwine.org

A little more about Devin:

"Born and raised in Virginia, food and family was central to Devin’s upbringing. As a 30-year veteran of cooking and food service, his career has taken him to Italy, France, Spain, and Antarctica. After having cured prosciutto and salami in Tuscany in 2009, his focus became cheese and he earned the title of Certified Cheese Professional in 2013." - https://www.theseasonedchef.com/

WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE SAYING

Lir M.

I'd like to start this off by thanking you for teaching me so much French. You were a great teacher and you helped me learn so many new things. I'd also like to apologize for missing a lot of lessons, although I'm sure that I would've rather gone to them. Again, you are the best teacher I've ever had, and it's sad to say goodbye to you.

Alliance Française de Denver created a wonderful virtual environment where I spent my Summer vacation; visiting the winemaking area of Bouzy; celebrating Bastille Day; learning how to cook with flowers; touring historic châteaux and beautiful villages; all in the safety and comfort of my home.

A real treat for any Francophone person; especially having a daily place for French chat to try out and maintain colloquial skills.

Anne is fantastic! The material is fast paced for this "old dog" to learn new tricks, but we could not go slower. It has been very helpful to prepare me for my trip to France.

A great place to learn and practice French while getting acquainted with French culture and interesting people. I definitely recommend AFD and their events. Je parle français! Et vous?
