Café Culturel - Grasse, capitale mondiale du parfum (Grasse, world's capital of perfume) - PART 1
Tuesday May 6th @ 6pm
Grasse, located in the French region called Provence-Côte d'Azur, has had a prospering perfume industry since the end of the 18th century. Grasse is the center of the French perfume industry and is known as the world's perfume capital. We will learn some historical and current facts about Grasse in two sessions.
Part 1 will cover geography, climate, native flowers, and history (how Grasse became a place of choice for perfume fabrication). We will also learn different types of fabrication.
Part 2 will cover industrial development, globalization of the perfume industry, tourism, industrial mutations, etc. We will learn about the city of Grasse today.
This is an online presentation in English, by our speaker and Alliance Française de Denver teacher, Edwige Wagner.
Each session will last about one hour and will be followed by a discussion.
