DELF & DALF

Internationally recognised certifications to qualify your French level. Valid for life

The DELF (diplôme d’études en langue française) and DALF (diplôme approfondi de langue française)  exams consist of 6 independent diplomas, each corresponding to one of the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference. Each diploma can be obtained independently of each other, in the same country or in a different country. These exams are French language proficiency tests for non-native speakers of French who wish to have their proficiency level certified for professional, academic or personal reasons.

The DELF / DALF certificates are recognized anywhere in the world. They are to the French language what the Cambridge Certificate proficiency tests are to English.

The results do not expire with time.

Please consider the time period necessary to receive the attestation de réussite  (around 4-6 weeks) or the diploma (4-6 months) if you are taking the DELF/DALF to apply to a university or for immigration purposes.

Which Test Should I Take?

DELF exams are offered in 3 formats, based on age. The tasks of the test  and diploma the candidate receives is the same, regardless of the format taken. The content is adapted for subjects relevant to the age-group being tested. Candidates 7-13 may not be allowed to take the Tout Public exam, at our discretion.

DELF Prim

The DELF Prim is designed for children 7-12 years old. The tests available are the A1.1, A1, and A2.

DELF Junior

The DELF Junior is designed for youth starting at 13, and up through the end of high school. The tests available are the A1, A2, B1, and B2.

DELF/DALF Tout Public

DELF/DALF Tout Public are designed for adults (youth 16 and older may take the exam, but we strongly encourage the Junior version). DELF exams are levels A1, A2, B1, and B2. DALF exams are C1 and C2.
