The TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français) for the general public is intended for anyone aged 16 or older whose mother
tongue is not French and who wishes to have their level of French assessed for academic reasons (students, future students, trainees…),

With a mandatory written expression component, the TCF for the general public is the official test recognized by the Ministry of
Higher Education
and the Ministry of Culture as part of the DAP (Demande d’Admission Préalable) .
This TCF is composed of 4 mandatory tests, three multiple-choice questionnaires (MCQs) and one written expression test:
Listening comprehension
Language structure mastery
Reading comprehension
Written expression
NOTE : To complete the FULL TCF TOUT PUBLIC , you will also have to
register separately to the TCF TOUT PUBLIC ORAL EXPRESSION.

All test-takers must complete the form accessible through the link below. It will be used for your
registration with France Education International, so ensure it matches your passport information if you are using the TCF for an official
purpose. Please note that incorrectly filling out either form can cause delays in processing your request, and your ability
to take a desired test. Once received, the person in charge of the exam center will contact one week before the exam to confirm the
schedule, the location, and important information regarding the day's schedule.
